Wilson Reading System® Introductory Workshop

The Wilson Reading System® Introductory Workshop presents the multisensory structured language principles and techniques of the Wilson Reading System® (WRS).  This 3 day (15 hour) workshop includes hands-on practice and application of skills with the WRS Lesson Plan.This Wilson Reading System® Introductory Workshop will cover:

  • Reading Research
  • Principles of language structure
  • How to teach language with direct, multisensory methods
  • Program implementation
  • Student placement, progress monitoring, and scheduling
  • Five areas of reading; phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension
  • How the Wilson Reading System® addresses the 5 areas of reading
  • Creating a successful classroom environment
  • Block 1 - Word Sudy
  • Block 2 - Spelling Block
  • Block 3 - Fluency/Comprehension
  • Wilson Reading System® lesson planning and procedures
  • Lesson plan writing and practice

Graduate Credit
Fitchburg State University (FSU), located in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, offers graduate credit for Wilson Reading System® professional development.
